Cardinal Health is looking for a highly motivated pharmacist to work in a company owned retail contract pharmacy. Our pharmacists play an important role in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care in communities that are most in need. This includes immunizations, patient consultation, medication therapy management, and management of high-risk patients.

Director of Pharmacy - Copiah County Medical Center

Hazlehurst, MS (Req# 20034956)

Cardinal Health is currently recruiting for a Director of Pharmacy at a critical access facility located in south central Mississippi. Copiah County Medical Center was built in 2017 and functions as a sole source community hospital with a maximum inpatient censes of 25. Out-patient services are offered which include endoscopies, minor surgeries and rehabilitation. The director of pharmacy will be responsible for management of 1 pharmacy technician. Duties include staffing with on-call, P&T leadership, formulary and inventory control. Full pharmacy services will be new to this facility so candidate should have excellent communication skills and willingness to integrate pharmacy into the patient care team through relationship building with nursing and medical staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy required, PharmD preferred
• Must be a licensed Pharmacist (in good standing) or eligible for licensure in the state of Mississippi
• 3 to 5 years hospital experience with 4+ years in a management position preferred 
• Ability to negotiate, influence, and resolve customer/employee problems or conflicts to meet the needs of external and internal customers
• Ability to develop, implement and lead all aspects of pharmacy operation
• Computer savvy to learn and perform successful operation of multiple pharmacy information systems.
• Excellent planning, organizing and leadership skills
• Strong customer orientation and negotiation skills
• Pressure to perform in emergency situations
